Carbon and Glass Filament Wound Product Engineering And Molded Epoxy Product Engineering

We engineer and manufacture custom filament wound fiberglass products, carbon fiber wound products and molded epoxy products for companies in various industries throughout the world. Our engineers have the experience to develop advanced composite solutions to meet your specific needs. From custom to standard, companies around the world have trusted our filament wound engineering and our molded epoxy engineering and manufacturing processes to provide most reliable custom composite components to meet their challenges.

ADVANCED FILAMENT WINDING EQUIPMENT

Our computer controlled filament winding equipment utilizes a resin matrix and a reinforcing fiber wound in a precise pattern to produce the ultimate mechanical strength and dielectric properties required for each specific application.

Our advanced filament winding equipment also has the capability to combine three families of resins with four types of reinforcing fibers.

We produce composite components with properties that include:

  • High Mechanical Strength
  • Light Weight
  • Excellent Electrical Insulation
  • Corrosion Resistance
  • Wear Resistance

ADVANCED EPOXY MOLDING EQUIPMENT

Our advanced epoxy molding equipment provides the flexibility to mold epoxy high voltage insulators both in small quantities and large quantities. All of our composite components are molded using our proprietary epoxy formulations, specific for each application.

We produce molded insulators with properties that include:

  • High Dielectric Strength
  • Excellent Surface Tracking
  • Good Mechanical Strength
  • Low Power Factor
  • Excellent Discharge Results

MACHINING & ASSEMBLY

We have a fully equipped machine shop in-house, operated by experienced machinists to meet all of your requirements.

What also sets us apart is that we have the ability to perform many secondary operations including, but not limited to, machining, bonding, and fabrication producing many custom filament wound and molded epoxy components.

Quality Control

QUALITY CONTROL

Our quality management system operates in accordance with the requirements of the ISO9001 standard, the most recognized international quality system. Comptec's manufacturing personnel are thoroughly trained in a documented process control system that regulates every step of production.

This quality system controls the total process:

  • Incoming materials
  • Process control
  • Testing and final inspection
  • Serialization

Our quality control department is able to respond to any special testing and/or certification required by our customers.

SERIALIZATION & TRACEABILITY

Comptec serializes every component in its molding operations for traceability, and will serialize filament wound products at the customer's request. Should a performance problem arise, serialization enables Comptec to identify the manufacturing specifications and processes used in producing that component to determine that the process was to specification.
